Why Fan Sizing Matters

The fan’s size dictates the system’s air volume (CFM). An undersized fan cannot produce the desired airflow. An oversized fan, or one operated beyond requirements, pushes unnecessary air—adding system stress, raising energy use, and increasing maintenance.

Goal: Select a fan that meets design CFM at the total system static pressure, with room for filter loading and seasonal variations.
