Proper discharge design prevents recirculating dust loads that raise pressure, shorten filter life, and increase maintenance.

Hoppers filled with dust create a circulating dust load. This leads to higher differential pressure, shortened filter life, and more frequent filter cleaning. To prevent this, air locks must be installed at the bottom of each hopper. These prevent dust from re-entering the airstream and circulating back through the system.

  • Raised differential pressure increases energy demand and wear.
  • Dust buildup shortens filter life and reduces efficiency.
  • Proper discharge systems maintain steady airflow and pressure balance.
Tip: Always install and maintain rotary air locks or equivalent discharge devices under hoppers to isolate collected dust from the airstream.
